Branford Elementary Schools to Start 10 Minutes Later This Fall

When Branford public schools go back on Wednesday, Aug. 28, elementary students will be starting (and ending) their days later than last year.

Even though it's only the middle of summer vacation, the start of the 2013-14 school year is six weeks away with the first day of school for Branford students being Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Kindergarteners to 4th-graders, however, will have an extra 10 minutes of summer vacation as Associate Superintendent Anthony Buono confirmed there will be a time change for all elementary schools for the 2013-14 school year.

Elementary school hours will be shifted from 8:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. to 8:55 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. The change will also shift PreK hours to 8:55 a.m. - 11:25 a.m. for the morning session and 12:55 p.m. - 3:25 p.m. for the afternoon session.

Principals will be contacting parents regarding the change and more information will be posted on the district website shortly.

Will the time change affect you?
