Historic Branford Photo Exhibit, Earl Colter's 100th Birthday

Flash Bulletin:  We have added wine and cheese!

Please email this around to friends!

You are cordially invited to attend the 100th
Birthday Celebration for Earl Colter at the James Blackstone Memorial Library
on Main Street in Branford, CT on Saturday May 18th, 2013 from 1:00
– 3:00 pm.

The celebration will feature many historical photos of
people and places near and dear to the citizens of Branford that Earl
documented over his 72 year career as a professional photographer.

Earl is still as spry and fit as ever, and will
certainly enjoy seeing his friends once again.

This year Earl’s collection of photos will include WWII
photos from his service in the Navy, featuring his tours of the Island of
Okinawa, Japan taken with Admiral Rickover.  These photos are a stunning
journalistic record of the Island immediately following the US invasion.
As Admiral Rickover’s personal photographer, Earl documented the famous
Admiral’s early Navy Career.

Wine, cheese, Cake and coffee will be served.

Suggested Donation is $10.00, and $5.00 for
Seniors. Kids free.   All funds will benefit the James
Blackstone Memorial Library and the Branford Historical Society to help with
the costs of digitizing the many photos Earl has donated to their collections.

Tickets will be available at the door or at Carons Corner supermarket in advance.

Checks should be made payable to Friends of JBML

Hope to see you there, and bring lots of friends.

Please forward this email along to others who are interested
in Branford History.

Sincerely

Doug Colter and family
