Whether
you’re a recreational runner or elite athlete this is your opportunity to do
something awesome to show your support for the city of Boston and the people
whose lives were changed forever on April 15 2013.”  The CT Wave Runners is a group of runners
that are
a recreational running and training group with an affiliated USATF team
for those who want to compete.  CT Wave Runners is based out of Old
Saybrook and will be taking a 9.5 mile stretch of the run on June 29th
at approximately 9pm. The stretch will go along Route 17 from Northford to
Durham.

Chris
Kopcha, who is an avid runner and personal trainer from the shoreline ran the
Boston Marathon this past April and had the following to share: “Running the Boston Marathon is something many runners
dream of.  With it's tough qualifying standards, it is the pinnacle of many
racing careers and can take years for those fortunate enough to achieve it.

Until this
unthinkable act of terror, thousands of runners went though the highs and lows
associated with any endurance event, and each story is different, yet the same.
I myself had the strongest 26.2 miles I may ever know.  I felt
good from start to finish. I spent time with friends at the start and saw
family on the course.  I experienced the joys of the Wellesley scream
tunnel, the relief of cresting Heartbreak Hill, memories of post college years
spent in Brookline, and the jubilance of crossing one of the most famous finish
lines in the world.  These are the memories I take with me from my first
Boston.

A question I have
been asked frequently is would I run Boston again.  The answer.....you better believe it.
What happened at 2:49 on Boylston Street was
an unfathomable act of terror.
The definition of
terrorism is the use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a
population.  As soon as we let fear
take over our lives, we have let the terrorists win.  That is not
acceptable.

You didn't have to
be in Boston on that fateful day to feel the shock of the day's
events.  On June 29 I will
participate with my running family in the
One
Run for Boston
, raising money to
help the people most affected by the tragic evens on April 15.”

Now,
it is your turn to join on the ONE RUN
FOR BOSTON
, or help donate towards those that have been affected on that
day..

START:
 Los Angeles - Friday June 7, 2013

FINISH:
 Boston - Sunday June 30, 2013

In
just three weeks the One Run For Boston relay will travel over 3000 miles
through fourteen different states.  Runners from across the USA, and
beyond, will run day and night to get the baton to Boston.
