Since 1964, the Branford Fire Department has been located on North Main Street with the same address but moved to a newMore facility in 2012. Branford's fire history stretches back into the late 1800's with bucket brigades but in 1901 the town officially purchased land on Hillside Avenue to erect a fire station. With 35 career firefighters and 100 volunteers today, the fire department is busy around the clock helping the community and ensuring the safety of all with Branford resident, Chief Jack Ahern in charge. 
Harrison House

The Harrison House is a historical landmark in Branford, erected in 1724 on two acres of picturesque land. TheMore fuly-restored house offers visitors a look into daily life in the Colonial Era, featuring furniture, household items and more from the period. The grounds also feature a colonial-style herb garden and barn, and one room in Harrison House has been converted into a museum of Branford's unique history.

This volunteer fire department has a long history. It interestingly enough got its name through a contest. VotersMore paid five cents to cast their votes, and M.P. Rice, a member of the first Branford Board of Fire Commissioners, won the election, receiving 1,200 votes.

One of the town's two fire trucks was stored at town hall at the turn of the century, and the M.P. Rice station was built shortly after to house the vehicle.

Today Captain Brain Mazzarella leads the department. He and 27 volunteers work to serve the people of Branford.

Brewer Bruce & Johnson's Marina, located on the Branford River, offers a family-oriented marina with a pool,More restaurant, playground and picnic area. The marina also prides itself on being part of a long porting history that defines the founding of Branford. 

The marina also offers Brewer Bruce & Johnson Marina West at 51 Goodsell Point Road.

If you are looking for the marina from Route 146 during the summer months, spot the person in a lobster suit standing at the entrance; though the lobster man is for the nearby Dockside Restaurant, it's an iconic landmark leading the way to the shoreline.
