She and her husband, Chester Tisko, were lifelong residents of Branford.</p> <p>Tisko's fifty-five-year teaching career was culminated by the distinctive honor of being named Principal Emeritus of all elementary schools in Branford. </p> <p>Today, the Mary R. The 2010 school year brought a new face to the Branford school system: Hamlet Hernandez. The son of Cuban refugeeMore parents, Hernandez matriculated through Hamden schools and most recently held the title of Assistant Superintendent of Hamden Schools before being appointed to his current role of Branford's Superintendent of Schools. He was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps.</p> <p>Hernandez brings with him a dedication to all students, from those enrolled in early education in the Indian Neck School programs to the seniors graduating from Branford High School.
