Brothers Dino and Peter Maniatis are co-owners of Hornet's Nest Deli (named in honor of the Branford High School…More mascot). This deli is the third that the Maniatis brothers have opened in Connecticut. Some of their recipes are three generations old. All soups are made from scratch daily, and an extensive breakfast menu features six Hungry Man sandwiches, build-your-own omelets, gourmet bagels and warm croissants. Signature sandwiches like the Godfather start at $5.99. Says Dino: "If you want fresh ingredients, made from scratch food and a <i>Cheers</i>-like atmosphere, the Hornet's Nest Deli is the place for you."

Led by Principal Lee Panagoulias, Jr., Branford High School strives to prepare students for post-graduation and prides itself on the the Senior Exhibition Project, or Senior Ex. Those interested can follow the ongoing projects through its online blog. The program has received state-wide attention and is a model for Connecticut's Capstone Project. The school's sports teams never disappoint -whether it is cross country, swimming, football, baseball, basketball or softball, you can be sure the community will come together to root for their Hornets.
