Week Ahead in Branford: High Holy Celebrations & Choir Tryouts

What's happening this week, Sept. 2- 6 in Branford.

Here's a quick recap of some important events happening this week in Branford. Remember, you can post your own organizations' events to our events calendar at any time. 

Monday, Sept. 2
It's the official Labor Day holiday! Schools, town offices, government offices, the transfer station, the post office and other businesses are closed. Enjoy the day!

Wednesday, Sept. 4
Join the Chabad of the Shoreline for a series of High Holiday Services, all day long, at the Days Inn in Branford.  There's no membership or tickets necessary. Lots of programs for the kids, too! 

The Board of Selectmen meet at the Fire Department headquarters, 45 N. Main Street at 6pm. 

At 7pm, the Housing Authority meets at Parkside Village II. 

The Conservation and Environment Commission meets at the Canoe Brook Senior Center, 11 Cherry Hill Road, 7:30pm. 

The Open Space Authority also meets at 7:30pm at the Canoe Brook Senior Center, 11 Cherry Hill Road. 

Thursday, Sept. 5
You can sing! The United Girls' Choir of Branford will hold auditions for girls ages 6-17 at the United Choir School office, 341 Quinnipiac Avenue in New Haven at 3:30pm. This is for placement into the choir this September.  All interested girls are eligible to audition. No experience is necessary. Audition information and appointments may be obtained by calling (203) 787-1244 or by sending an e-mail to info@unitedchoir.com.

The town's Planning & Zoning Commission meets at 7pm at the Canoe Brook Senior Center, 11 Cherry Hill Road.
