Week Ahead in Branford: Basketball, Garlic & Auditions

Monday, Sept. 9

The town's Board of Police Commissioners meet at 5pm at the Police Department.

You can 'Scape to the Wonderful World of Garlic at the Branford Community House, 7pm. Just in time for garlic planting season in October, the Evening Committee of the Branford Garden Club brings Maureen Gillis to town to give you garlic history and mythology along with basic planting and cultivating tips.  Non-Members $3.00.  For more information call 203 488-6837.

The Branford Chorale invites everyone with a love of singing to join them for their Fall 2013 season, 7pm at the Walsh Intermediate School. All voices are welcome. There are no auditions. The RTM's Education Committee meets at 7:30pm at the Canoe Brook Senior Center. 

Tuesday, Sept. 10
The town's Human Services Board meets at 8am at the Branford Counseling Center, 342 Harbor Street. 

The Shellfish Commission meets at 5pm at the Canoe Brook Senior Center. 

The RTM's Public Services Committee holds a special meeting at 7pm at the Police Department. 

The town's Water Pollution Control Authority meets at 7pm at the Canoe Brook Senior Center

Wednesday, Sept. 11
VNA Community Healthcare will offer a new prevention program on falls. It takes place from 11am to 12:30 p.m. at Canoe Brook Senior Center, 11 Cherry Hill Road. Participants will learn how to improve their balance and reduce their risk of falling. Balance assessments and information to help seniors stay on their feet 
will also be shared.  This is a FREE program. 

The RTM meets at 8pm at the Fire House.
