Week Ahead in Branford: Historic Properties Relief & Spaghetti Dinner

Monday, September 23

A meeting will be held concerning the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Assistance Grant program to aid in the restoration of properties listed on or eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places which were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Available to owners of historic resources including: private property owners, municipalities, non-profits, and corporations. The grants awards range from $2,500-$500,000 and will be awarded based on funding availability. Meeting will be held at the Canoe Brook Senior Center and starts at 7pm. RSVP: laura.mancuso@ct.gov. 

Tuesday, September 24

The Connecticut Business Connection is holding their Branford Breakfast Networking meeting at the Parthenon Diner, 372 East Main STreet, at 7:30am. Not familiar with them? They provide networking and educational opportunities to business owners and professionals such as opportunities to network and events to help one succeed in business. There is no membership requirement. Each event has a small fee. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required. For more information, click here

Beginning at 6pm at Home, located at 1114 Main Street, restaurant owner and house mixologist Jared Schulefand will create four amazing infusions using Onyx (moonshine from East Hartford).  He'll then create handcrafted, original cocktails using each infusion.  Executive Chef Mike DiVincenzo has created a four course dinner pairing each course with a different one of Jared's cocktails. Come to Home for this incredible experience! Seating is limited and reservation are necessary.
$65.00 per person (tax & gratuity not included).

A free seminar on "Retirement Income Strategies for a Changing Landscape" will take place at 6:15pm at Il Forno's, 765 West Main Street in Branford. The Eastern Indian Neck Association (EINA) will hold its annual meeting at 7pm at the Branford Community House, 46 Church Street. Election of Executive Board will take place. All property owners of EINA are encouraged to attend to show support for the neighborhood.  For information call 203 488-6837.

Thursday, September 26
The town's Board of Fire Commissioners meets at 7pm at the Fire Headquarters, 45 North Main Street.

The Inland Wetlands Commission meets at 7:30pm at the Canoe Brook Senior Center, 11 Cherry Hill Road.

Friday, September 27

The American Legion Post 83 in Branford is hosting an "All-You-Can-Eat" spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Post Hall, 243 North Main Street from 5pm to 8pm. The menu will feature spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, coffee, tea, water and a create-your-own-sundae dessert. The dinner is open to the public. $8.00 per person, kids 10 and under are free.
