Thousands in Connecticut Without Power

Almost 1,700 Branford residents without power.

As thunderstorms continue to roll through the state Tuesday night more than 5,000 people are left in the dark without power. 

Connecticut Light & Power is reporting 3.500 power outages as of 10:15 p.m. including 1,670 in Branford, 588 in Clinton, 248 in Guilford, 444 in Old Saybrook, and 257 in Westbrook. 

United Illuminating Co. is reporting 2,000 outages including 1,866 in New Haven, 55, in Hamden, 38 in East Haven, and 34 in North Branford.

The good news is the rains end tomorrow morning, and sunshine dominates the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
