THE ENGLISH PUB TABLE

What a beautiful piece! I've always admired the folding and expansion mechanism on these tables. It's rare to see this type of table with a queen anne leg. They typically had some sort of stretcher base on them. These tables were were originally used in pubs and as kitchen tables in homes throughout Great Britain. Often times the leaves that hide underneath were used as a cutting board as this one was and the beautiful quarter saw oak was the finished top. It's always rewarding when you deliver a piece and the client is so pleased.
