Outdoor Dining Furniture:

Outdoor Dining Furniture

Outdoor living space has become very popular in our daily lives. Especially outdoor dining. I have made many tables like these for clients in the past and decided to make one for my deck several years ago. I knew I had to do a few things differently so that it would hold up to the elements. Firstly the top had to be made from a wood that was both stable and would withstand heat and cold not to mention rain and snow. I made the top out of a wood called Ipe, a very hard stable wood used for decking with a sort of mahogany look to it. Another good choice is a wood from the mahogany family called Sapele, beautiful grain stable enough to use outside and not quite as expensive as the African mahoganies. Cedar is also a great wood but not as hard.

It was also important to use a good finish that would handle being outdoors. I used a marine grade finish so that it would hold up to the UV rays of the sun. I can make a table for you like the one pictured here in any size, wood, or paint finish combination you’d like. Enjoy the beauty of wood furniture outside as well.
