Hoping for Clear Skies for Fireworks

You'd better head to Branford Point early to catch the fireworks -- and walking or biking may not be a bad idea if you can't.

But according to the National Weather Service, it's unlikely you'll have to worry about rain. Any showers and thunderstorms are likely to clear up before the early evening, and forecasters are calling for a clear night. Temperatures should be a little cooler than yesterday, with a low of 61 at dusk.

Live music will go throughout the afternoon, including Hitlist, who recently played the Branford Festival. The Branford Town Band will be performing their longest concert of the year at 7:30 p.m.

In case rain does come after all, the rain date is Sunday, June 24 -- same time and place.
