Ready to step outside for a breath of fresh air? Check out the local air quality report before venturing out.

It may look like a beautiful day in the neighborhood, but some ugly pollution could be clouding up the local air!

Check out Branford's daily air quality report on the Google map above to keep track of ozone and fine particulate levels in your neighborhood.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency website, high levels of air pollutants can adversely affect older adults, those with asthma and other lung diseases, people who are active outdoors and children.

Sensitive groups should limit the duration and intensity of outdoor activities during heavy air pollution days.

A full breakdown of air pollution health effects can be found on the EPA website.
