Three Branford Football Players Compete in Military Bowl

Congratulations to Alex Borkowski, Justin Pelazzi and Andrew Klarman on being chosen to play in this All-Star game.

It may be summer, but three Branford Hornets football players headed out to the gridiron for the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame Classic Military Bowl on June 27.

The Military Bowl was played Saturday at Rentschler Field. The all-star game for high school seniors has 55 players on each team, one called Team National Guard and the other called Team Marines. Jim Buonocore, coach of the Ledyard Colonels, coached the Guard team to a 15-14 win over Windsor's Rob Fleeting, who coached the Marines.

Playing on the Guard team and representing Branford were linebacker Alex Borkowski, outside lineman Justin Pelazzi and defensive lineman Andrew Klarman.
