The Hornets’ boys’ finished the 2011-12 regular season with an 11-9 record to earn the No. 7 seed in the Division II State Tournament. Guilford (11-7-2) and Hand (12-6-2) took the first and second seeds, respectively, both earning first-round byes. North Branford, 11-8-1, took the No. 3 seed.
Branford will host Staples-Weston-Shelton, which held a 9-11 record for the No. 10 seed, in the first round on Tuesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. at the Northford Ice Pavilion.
