BHS Grad Finishes as Top Scorer for Central Connecticut Lacrosse

Former Hornet Meaghan McCurry scores most goals for Central this year.

Meaghan McCurry, a former lacrosse standout, has been making a name for herself at Central Connecticut State University, where she finished this year as the Blue Devil's leading scorer.

McCurry, a sophomore attacker, scored 38 goals this season, leading the Division I Central to a 7-9 season. The Blue Devils finished 2-7 in the Northeast Conference. Central finished their season with a loss to Wagner College. She also tallied 17 assists for a total of 55 points for the year.

She has found success with the Blue Devil lacrosse program since she graduated from Branford in 2009. Last year she was fifth on the team with 22 goals and also had five assists. She also had a .537 shooting percentage and controlled 14 draws. In March, McCurry was named the NEC player of the week.

At Branford, McCurry was a First Team All-State and All-SCC during her senior year. She also broke four school records including most goals–89–and points–101–in a season. You can read about how the current BHS . McCurry was also a starter on the soccer team for BHS.
