The Holy Spirit By Any Other Name, But Monk Parakeet?

We know Monk Parakeets love to hang out together (large, noisy communal nests), but they led me to a great place to be involved with too.

If you ask most people to symbolize the Holy Spirit, they would picture a dove.  The Celtic people visualize the Spirit as a wild goose.  For me, though, always one to march to a different drummer, I saw a Monk Parakeet.

One Sunday last Fall, I went in search of the Short Beach Monk Parakeet and found a wonderful group of people who meet at the historical Short Beach Union Church.  My first impression as they made their way from the santuary was--Wow!  These people look as if they really enjoy their time together!  There was no rushing out to beat the traffic or to get back to their "real" lives, only people who left with a joyous expression, still engaged with one another as they chatted down the sidewalk.  This looked like a church home to me, and now it is.

By the way, two Monk Parakeets have breakfast every morning at the bird feeder across the street, which is awesome too.
