WIS Closed Feb. 3 Due to Roof Condition
Branford Schools Superintendent cancels school and evening activities as a preventative measure.
Today, Branford Schools emailed guardians and faculty of students through their AlertNow system to report the school closed on Feb. 3 due to snow removal on roofs. Hernandez wrote: "As a proactive safety measure, the District is monitoring all building roofs. The District's Director of Facilities is working with a structural engineer who has recommended that the snow be removed from portions of the Walsh Intermediate roof."
Hernandez reported that a crane is required for the removal making it necessary to cancel school and evening activities.
This news comes just after Hernandez and the called a meeting on Feb. 16 to in light of numerous school cancellations for the 2010-2011 school year.
