Will Branford High School Continue To Have A Jazz Band?

If the band will still be around or not remains unknown as low enrollment is having the Branford Board of Education considering removing the program.

Will there continue to be a jazz band at Branford High School? Nobody still knows.

The New Haven Register reports that on Wednesday, at the Board of Education meeting, several parents and students went to ask if the jazz band would still be around next year, as there was a rumor that Branford High's director of instrumental music - Ted Samodel - would be moved to an elementary school. Despite the questions, school officials told the group that the decision has not yet been made, according to the newspaper.

Only six students participated in the jazz band this year, according to the New Haven Register. Board Chairman Frank Carrano said the district plans on offering the band program next year, but said the low enrollment is troubling, according to the newspaper.
