Tisko 4th Graders Have a Splash at Silver Sands

Mary Tisko 4th graders celebrate Adventure Day at Silver Sands Beach Club in East Haven.

Close to 100 4th graders and 45 parents spent the day in the pool, dancing to a DJ, playing tennis and having a picnic as they celebrated a day just for them.

Temperatures were in the high 90s but that certainly didn't deter the kids from having a blast. Even teachers did the Macarena, Chicken Dance and participated in a hulla-hoop contest which Emily Ross won. The biggest thrill was the cannon ball contest. Close to half the class and some parents, competed to see who could make the biggest splash with his or her cannon ball off the diving board.  The winner was allowed to push Principal Mark Rabinowitz off the diving board. Brendan Strebel did the honors.
