New England Patriots Mascot Pat Patriot will visit Mary Tisko Elementary School in Branford to reward them for winning a Fuel Up to Play 60 New England-wide contest called “It Starts with School Breakfast.”

In order to win, the school showcased the successful ways they are implementing school breakfast. Research shows that eating a healthy breakfast at school is linked to successful academic achievement among students.

On behalf of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, New England Patriots Mascot Pat Patriot will pay the school a special visit. Pat Patriot will visit classrooms and join grades 3 and 4 on the school lawn for a field day the students are sure to remember!

Last fall, Mary Tisko School received $3,875 for Fuel Up to Play 60 to help the elementary school implement a “Breakfast in the Classroom”  program and to help expand their before-school physical activity program.   Funding for this program is provided by the dairy farm families of Connecticut through a partnership between the Connecticut Milk Promotion Board and the New England Dairy & Food Council.
