Branford takes on Trumbull in the Division II state finals tonight at Ingalls Rink at 7:30 p.m.
The hockey team is playing its final game of the 2011-12 season tonight []. The already has many highlights, including , but they are hoping to add one more to that list tonight–a state championship.
The will take on fifth-seeded Trumbull tonight, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Ingalls Rink in New Haven. Both teams have knocked off top seeds in Division II en route to the finals.
Trumbull, with an 11-9 regular-season record, shut out 12th-seeded Watertown-Pomperaug in the first round 6-0 before taking down Wilton, the No. 4 seed, 4-2 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Trumbull pulled off a big upset, beating top-seeded Guilford 7-3.

Branford faced Guilford once during the regular season, falling 6-1. The Hornets also faced off against Trumbull in an early season game with Trumbull taking a narrow 7-6 win on Dec. 31.
