Hornets Advance Past Thunderbirds to Finals

Branford High School Boys Hockey will move onto to the state finals this Friday after beating North Branford's squad 5 to 3.

Branford High School boys hockey surpassed North Branford last night 5 to 3, advancing to the CIAC Division II state finals this Friday where they will face Trumbull at 7:30 p.m. at New Haven's Ingalls Rink.

The Hornets were behind the Thunderbirds reports the New Haven Register but BHS' Rob Celentano and Tony Pascale each knocked in two goals to take the lead.

With a packed house rooting for both teams, the No. 7 Hornets were able to outscore the No. 3 Thunderbirds.
