Dollars For Diabetes... Students Raise More Than 550 of Them for Mikey

This weekend, Mike's older brother Matt White, a senior at Branford High School to raise money for the JDRF. features an intense CrossFit workout. You can read more about the fundraiser happening this Saturday at Shoreline Crossfit here and learn how to donate. 

To join in the fundraising, Mikey's teacher Dawn Corcoran decided to have the her team, 6-3, pitch in. After Matt visited Mikey's class to tell them about the fundraiser, the teachers and students decided to run "Dollars for Diabetes" and collectively raised more than $550 for the JDRF in one day.

In a letter sent home to parents, the team teachers said the fundraiser was meant to show solidarity toward Mikey who struggles every day with Type 1 JD. "It is very important for our students see how they can make a difference in other peoples’ lives," the teachers wrote. 

A big congratulations to the students and teachers of Team 6-3 for their fundraising.
