Branford Schools Introduce Interactive Website

BranfordOnline.org was "designed to highlight the integration of technology and learning in Branford Public Schools."

Do you ever wonder how technology is integrated into the classrooms at Branford schools? Last week, the Branford Board of Education introduced a new website, BranfordOnline.org, aimed at demonstrating just how that's done.

The interactive site moves learning out of the classroom and into the community.

According to the BOE's press release, "This first release of BranfordOnline.org features 30 initial videos including videos of instruction, screencasts, and curated 3rd party videos."

Screencasts, which the website defines as "footage of actual software with a narrator explaining the actions on the screen," include videos on how to use the district website, Webpath Express and more.

In Videos of Instruction, you can see how technology is put to use in the classrooms with 4th-grade Smartboards and using iPads in the classroom featured, among others. You can also get a look inside a Branford High School engineering class.

"The curated videos are existing videos online that have been curated into our collection due to their relevance to Branford Public Schools" and include topics such as "Using Google Drive for Mobile" and "Explaining the Common Core."
