Branford Library Celebrates Summer With Popsicles Thursday & More!

The Branford Library is celebrating the start of summer in a cool way-- with popsicles! Stop by the library today, Thursday, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 p.m. to cool down.

Music and games will be included and all ages are welcome. No registration is required, just stop by to enjoy a cool summer treat! Information about the library's summer reading programs and special events will be available during this fun-filled meet and greet.

This year’s summer reading theme is "Fizz, Boom, Read!" Sign up for Fizz, Boom, Read online here! Librarians Miss Mary and Miss Carly are offering a high tech program that allows children to track their reading online, write reviews and view other users’ reading lists to get book recommendations.

Families can check-in weekly for a small prize/stickers. Weekly gift certificate prize drawings will be pulled at random through the summer every Friday afternoon. Winners will be notified by email or phone. The grand prize drawing for a Kindle Fire will be held on Friday, August 16th.

The library is working with the Branford Public Schools for an extra summer reading incentive this year. Branford Public Schools wanted to leave their students with a summer reading challenge as well as a physical representation of the number books read throughout the community so they are working with local artist Joe Kobylanski who created a magnificent marble maze that children can race when they check in each week.
