Branford Kindergarten Registration is April 2-4

With the 2012-13 school year in full swing, it's already time to start thinking of the 2013-14 school year with kindergarten registration for eligible Branford residents during the first week of April.

Kindergarten registration will be held at each of Branford's elementary schools – John B. Sliney, Mary T. Murphy and Mary R. Tisko – on April 2, 3 and 4 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. each day.

Parents should register their to-be kindergarteners (they must turn five on or before Dec. 31, 2013) in their school district. If you're unsure what district your home falls under, contact the Board of Education's office at 203-315-7812.

No appointments are necessary for registration, but you must bring the following:

• 2 utility bills in the occupant's name (copies)
• Current lease agreement or mortgage receipt (plus a copy)
• Copy of custody agreement (if applicable)
• Child's birth certificate with the raised seal (plus a copy)
• Child's current physical (dated Sept. 2012-Sept. 2013) using Connecticut's HAR-3 form; must list all immunizations.
