Branford Education Hall of Fame, 2012 Inductees Honored

The town recently honored its best and most valuable assets: its teachers!

Recently, inducted members of the Class of 2012 into the Hall of Fame at in Branford.  The dinner was attended by almost 300 people who recognized the contributions each inductee has made to education in Branford in a celebration of the unique importance of education in the community.

2012 Inductees


Barbara Cangiano and the  Research Dept

Joyce Igo, retired special education teacher

Faith McCarthy, former world language teacher

, Francis Walsh Intermediate school social studies teachers

Branford Board of Education

, Branford High School assistant principal;

Tom Salvin, Sliney School teacher

Zenia Smolenski, teacher and principal at the Harbor Street School; Nancy Knowlton, education activist; and Edward Hippolitus, Branford High School teacher and Career Education Coordinator were inducted posthumously.
