Branford Eliminates Daniel Hand Hockey 3-1

On Friday night Madison's hockey team faced in the quarterfinal round of the . The game was played at the Northford Ice Pavillion. For the second time in a week, the Tigers fell to the Hornets.  The last meeting was in the SCC DII Final last Saturday that Branford won 5-4 in OT.

The Tigers outshot the Hornets 29-20, but Branford Goalie, Alessandro Sarno was outstanding only allowing one shot to get by. The Hornets had a goal in each of the first two periods and Hand's Mitch Brown got the Tigers on the scoreboard with 8:12 remaining in the game to make it close at 2-1.  However Branford did not repeat last week's third period letdown.  With 4:44 remaining Tyler Hackett put the Hornets back out in front 3-1, and that was the final score.  

Branford will face North Branford on Monday at Ingalls Rink, New Haven.
