U.S. Senate Race: How Much Have Your Branford Neighbors Given?

Information for the U.S. Senate candidates listed in the dropdown above has been updated as of the most recent campaign finance filing deadline, July 15, according to the Federal Election Commission.

The next deadline is Oct. 15, the FEC says.

In Branford, Democrat Chris Murphy has the most donations among the candidates listed. The highest given by a single donor to his campaign is three $2,500 donations, totaling $7,500 by Gordon T. Geballe, listed as the Associate Dean of Yale University and a total of $7,500 in varying donations from Josh G. Geballe, Vice President of Finance for IBM.

Victor Cassella, chair of the Branford Democrat Town Committee gave $250. The rest of the donations to Murphy ranged in increments of $10 to $2,500.

Susan Bysiewicz, who is challenging Murphy in the Democratic primary, received $7,500 in increments of $2,500, $200 and $2,300 from Laura J. Massey of Massey Plate Glass & Aluminum.

Republican Linda McMahon's received one donation in Branford of $250 from Carole B. Brown who lists herself as self-employed. 

Republican Chris Shays, who is challenging McMahon for the nomination also received one donation in Branford in the amount of $2,500 from Jeffrey Alan Sonnenfeld, professor at Yale University.

Republican Kie Westby, a Southbury resident who is an attorney did not receive any donations from Branford residents. 

Independent candidate Lee Whitnum, a Greenwich resident whose past occupations include teacher, software engineer and paralegal, is not listed in the searchable database because she reported no financial activity, according to the FEC.
