Town: Please Ensure Sidewalks Are Clear of Snow, Ice
"The removal of snow from sidewalks within the Town of Branford is the sole responsibility of the owner, tenant, occupant, or person having the care of such land," officials remind residents.
The following is a public announcement from the Town of Branford.
The removal of snow from sidewalks within the Town of Branford is the sole responsibility of the owner, tenant, occupant, or person having the care of such land per Section 216-42 of the Code of the Town of Branford.
Upon the cessation of the storm, any snow, ice, or sleet must be removed within 8 hours or by11:00 am the following day if the snowfall occurs overnight. Snow may not be placed in a public right of way.
Please ensure that the sidewalks in front of your place of residence or business are clear of ice and snow. Any charges incurred by the Town to remove snow from sidewalks can, by ordinance, be charged to the property owner.
