Spring is fast-approaching and with the new season, many residents are ready to head out to the yards and start some spring clean-ups.
If you're wondering what to do with all of your bagged leaves, the Town of Branford will offer curbside pickup every other week once spring begins. Dates that the bagged leaves will be collected are:
- March 25-March 28
- April 8-April 11
- April 22-April 25
- May 6-May 9
Leaves must be placed in brown paper leaf bags (never plastic bags) or loose in cans and placed near your recycling the night before your regular collection day. Paper leaf bags are available for purchase at many Branford retailers including Richlin’s, Stop & Shop, Walgreen’s and Wal-Mart.
Leaves should not be raked into the street, piled at the curb or placed in wetlands, streams or drains.
In addition, you can also bring leaves and other debris to the transfer station, which is open from 7:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on weekdays and 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays. You must have a resident sticker, which can be obtained at Town Hall during regular hours.
