Sen. Ed Meyer has apparently lost it. His proposal is to effectively ban 99 % of ALL guns owned by law abiding people. 6 shot revolvers, lever action rifles, double barrell shotguns, bolt action hunting deer rifles, every gun in the state lol. All guns except flintlocks lol. So he wants to turn your law abiding hard working tax paying husband or father into a criminal for owning a duck shotgun. Yea send him to jail and cause your family tens of thousands of dollars in lawyer fees because some extremist politican wont follow the constitution of the United States and the state) that he took an oath to uphold when he was sworn in. Sen Meyers proposal is unconstitutional and downright scary. We elected this guy?

Yes he was elected by just barely 3000 votes. Folks think about this next time he runs. We had the chance to put in a thoughtful caring business owner and ct native Cindy Cartier but instead we got this baboon. Go figure. Lets kick him out.

Unbelievable commentary! Were ANY of you at today's public presentation & civil discussion? I was and thought it was a fact filled, unbiased presentation of gun statistics today and a clear idea of what our freely elected reorientation is proposing for reformed gun safety in CT. Guilford's finest were on hand to oversee a peaceful dispersment of attendees. Shame on those that have a warped agenda and spout garbage to muddy the point of safer gun laws, while protecting the sport of hunting!

Sen. Ed Meyers has lost all touch with reality and his extreme views dont represent even a fraction of his constituents. He can kiss his political carrer goodbye,I hope he gets arrested for his reckless stunt today.

Senator Meyers is the propopent of what should be called the "Suicide Bill." Wasn't it just last year or so that he wanted to ban lead fishing weights? Perhaps it is time for Sen. Meyers to consider retiring as he is losing it with this latest suggestion... CT already is the laughing stock of the country as the most poorly managed, worst in debt state in the US. I can only wait to see when the "one bullet gun" bill hits the national media. Like I stated, it should be named the "Suicide Bill." If it isn't for assisted suicide, then I wonder if the good Senator could explain what one does when the victim's first shot misses the criminal or if there is a second person involved such as the Cheshire home invasion case. It's still suicide for the victims! And that doesn't even touch on the 2nd amendment issue.

What is really disgusting since 12/14, is all the public officials who just want face time in the news by talking about how they want to control guns. Lets face reality and realize that we have plenty of laws already on the books concerning guns in this state. Start enforcing what is already law. Let the feds do something about the other states that have lax gun resale laws. If any politician in this state really wants to do some public good, step up to the plate with our tax dollars and then reopen all the closed state mental hospitals in CT. Tell the ACLU to back off and do what is right for the citizens of this state.

at 77 years old I think old Ed is losing his mind. He's more concerned about sand dunes, plastic bags and other nonsense rather than dealing with real issues.
