Branford Patch: When you’re not sitting in committee and full meetings, what are you doing? i.e. work and fun?
Paul Muniz: I am an environmental consultant and have had my own practice for ten years

Branford Patch: How long have you been actively engaged in politics in general?
Paul Muniz: Member of RTM for one 2-year term

Branford Patch: What and when was your first foray into politics?
Paul Muniz: Began participating in Branford politics in 2009.  Have been on Hotchkiss Grove Board of Directors for ten years and have been President twice.

Branford Patch: What’s your 10-second elevator pitch for getting elected?
Paul Muniz: I manage projects and budgets every day and can continue to work in the RTM to produce deliberated results

Branford Patch: What’s one thing right about Branford politics?
Paul Muniz: Branford politics have a lot of active volunteers.

Branford Patch: What’s one thing you’d like to see changed?
Paul Muniz: Reflexive partisan orientation on issues affecting the town, rather than putting oneself in others shoes and thinking broadly, poisons the atmosphere that decisions are produced in. I’d like representatives to look at topics from other points of view.

Branford Patch: Regardless of your party affiliation, can you name one good thing about the current First Selectman Anthony “Unk” DaRos and one good thing about his challenger, Joy McConnell?
Paul Muniz: Unk DaRos has shown that he can manage the enterprise that is the Town of Branford.  I don’t know anything that the challenger has done for the town.

Branford Patch: What’s one piece of advice you would give apathetic voters about the importance of casting his or her ballot?
Paul Muniz: The differences in final votes for RTM seats are usually very, very narrow.  A few votes will mean the difference between getting what you, as a voter, want vs. taking what you get.

Branford Patch: What’s the one thing that you like best about Paul Muniz: Branford is a real community, where everything going on in American culture, right now, is reflected.  We are lucky to be here.
