Branford Patch: When you’re not sitting in committee and full meetings, what are you doing? i.e. work and fun?
A.J. Milici: I am a scientist who recently retired from Pfizer and for fun I love boating in the Thimbles.
Branford Patch: How long have you been actively engaged in politics in general?
A.J. Milici: I have voted in every election since 1972.
Branford Patch: What and when was your first foray into politics?
A.J. Milici: First time running for an office at this level. I am a past president of the Hotchkiss Grove Shore District.
Branford Patch: What’s your 10-second elevator pitch for getting elected?
A.J. Milici: I am running for the RTM to help Branford stay as a special place to work, live and raise a family. I believe that my background as an educator, a scientist and long time resident will enable me to bring a unique perspective to problems that come before the RTM.
Branford Patch: What’s one thing right about Branford politics?
A.J. Milici: That there are many people giving of their time and talents for Branford.
Branford Patch: What’s one thing you’d like to see changed?
A.J. Milici: The tone of some meetings.
Branford Patch: Regardless of your party affiliation, can you name one good thing about the current First Selectman Anthony “Unk” DaRos and one good thing about his challenger, Joy McConnell?
A.J. Milici: Unk - did an outstanding job preparing the town for Irene and guiding us in the days following the Hurricane.
Joy - is a great speaker who is passionate about what she believes the town of Branford must do in the future.
Branford Patch: What has been the most exciting national election you have every voted in?
A.J. Milici: 1972 -- Nixon vs McGovern
Branford Patch: What’s one piece of advice you would give apathetic voters about the importance of casting his or her ballot?
A.J. Milici: Every vote counts and voting gives you the right to complain. If you don't vote, don't complain.
Branford Patch: What’s the one thing that you like best about Branford?
A.J. Milici: It has been a great town to raise my family.
Branford Patch: Why did you decide to run in this election?
A.J. Milici: I strongly support Unk DaRos and I was honored to be asked by the DTC to run for the RTM. I believe that I can help Branford to make the best decisions for its future and I hope to have the opportunity to serve the 7th District.
