CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR THE POSITION OF: Part-Time Community Service Officer with Department of Police Services

Commitment: 19 hours a week

Rate: $15.81 per hour

Essential Functions: Perform a variety of non-sworn duties in the enforcement of parking regulations and order, providing service to the public and monitor and direct traffic.

Qualification Requirements: Must be able to complete training courses in traffic control, parking enforcement.  Valid CT drives license. High School Graduate or GED equivalent.   College experience/degree, bilingual skills preferred, combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.

The Town of Branford reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be considered for the position.

The files of all qualified candidates will be maintained for a minimum of six months from the announcement date, and the qualified candidates will be considered for the same or similar positions which may become available during this timeframe.

All candidates not employed by the Town of Branford, prior to employment, must successfully pass a post-offer medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test given at the Town's expense.

The Town of Branford has implemented a policy of comprehensive background investigations for positions to be completed prior to hiring as part of the reference checking procedures for candidates not already employed by the Town.  The investigation may be conducted as the last step prior to an offer.  Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate from further consideration.
