Have A Question About Sequestration? #AskJoe!

Second District Congressman Joe Courtney has been taking questions about sequestration this week on his Facebook and Twitter.

Who doesn't have questions about sequestration (which, by the way, takes effect Friday)? What is it, what does it do, why is it happening, what does it mean to me and my wallet?

Second District Congressman Joe Courtney, the Democrat from Vernon, has been soliciting constituent questions all week on his Facebook page and Twitter account.

He is answering those questions both on Facebook and his YouTube channel.

Among the questions being asked are:

  • I'd like to know why we aren't hearing more about the ratio of cuts to tax increases.... why must we keep cutting, but the rich only had an incremental tax increase.
  • How might this impact the many children with special needs in our public schools with support services through federal dollars.
  • How will it affect CT's defense industry?
  • Why doesn't congress just repeal the Sequester law? the get down to work making decisions as to what should be cut and do it in a rational intelligent way.

If you have a question about sequestration, log onto one of the congressman's many social media outlets and ask!

Want Courtney to ask Harry Reid on why he has refused to have a senate vote on at least one of the budget proposals sent down from the House? Why? Want to know what the problem is, the democrats right up to include BO are looking to politically destroy the other party. Make everything wrong in America their fault. Do you know that in the last 4 years BO has not even submitted a single budget to Congress for review. And to those who still believe the republicans are trying to protect all their millionaire friends I suggest you look at the make up of millionaires in Congress. The majority of them are democrats. Don't think so, look it up.

Too late. Senate, after sitting on budget proposal sent down from the House long time ago, finally voted yesterday. Guess what happened? Down party lines, didn't pass. We will show them bad (R's) won't we. Don't they know that the President for Life wants everything his way or its the highway.

I love the "why must we keep cutting" when there haven't been any cuts made until they are forced by the sequester!

Joe, How about fining the Federal Reserve two trillion dollars for negligence in executing monetary policy? Payment must be made in fresh newly printed FRN’s (no Treasury Securities will be accepted) and the Fed will issue an opinion stating this action will have no impact on the inflationary outlook whatsoever.
