Republican Primary Special Registration

On April 24, Connecticut will hold its presidential primary election along with nearby Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

The  will be open Tuesday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a special enrollment session for voters. All those interested in casting their vote for a republican presidential primary candidate on April 24 must be registered with the Republican Party and can do so this Tuesday.

According to the registrar, mail-in registration/enrollment applications must be post marked by Thursday April 19, 2012. Deadline to register in person is Monday April 23, 2012; a special session for in-person registration will also be held Monday April 23 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Registrar of Voters is normally open to the public Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  (You can download voter registration here or attached to this story).

Voter Requirements

To register to vote in Connecticut, you must:

Be a United States citizen
Be a resident of a Connecticut town
Be at least 17 years old (you can vote when you turn 18)
Have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony and have had your voting rights restored by Registrar.

Registering to Vote 

There are several ways to register to vote. The easiest way is to print and complete the online State of Connecticut Mail-In Voter Registration form, then mail it to the Registrar of Voters at:
