You voted and the numbers are in. Bold denotes the winner in each race.

Update, Friday Nov. 11, 3 p.m.

After the Branford  announced that three of Branford's seven 4, 5, and 7 are eligible for a recount following Tuesday's election, RTM candidate Scott Thayer has declined a the recount conceding to Yvette M. Larrieu. There will now be a recount for the 4th and 7th districts.

According to state statute, if a race is decided by 20 votes or less than 1/2 of 1 percent of the votes cast, the ballots can be recounted. In the case of Thayer and Larrieu, the margin was 10 votes.

The results, for the by district are listed below.

At this time the recount has been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov.15. Soon as confirmation with Town Clerk Marianne Kelly can be made, Patch will let you know which races trigged the recount rule. Stay with Patch for recount details.

With the final numbers in, until a recount can be processed, Branford's  was exactly as high as Kelly anticipated. 40 percent turnout and exactly 6,986 voters cast their ballots Tuesday, meaning 41.8 percent of the 17,589 voters showed up to the polls. The original reports estimated the turnout at 30 percent.

In the selectman's race, the totals were spread, on average by about 100 in each district in First Selectman Anthony "Unk" DaRos' favor. However, the incumbent candidate cleaned-up against challenger Joy McConnell in his home district of 2, 564 votes to 250 or beating her by 314. McConnell was also beaten by DaRos in her own home district, 5, by 90 votes.

Will the election results be updated for those rows marked "TOTALS NOT IN"? Or are the complete results posted somewhere else? Mostly curious to see who won Tax Collector?
Nicole Ball November 10, 2011 at 01:49 PM
Hi BNA. I will have them ASAP. The Town Clerk will send them soon as they are ready. I e-mailed her again this morning to ask about them. Thanks for checking in. As far as district numbers, it's looking like Joanne P. Cleary will retain her post as tax collector but as of election night one district and absentee were not added. Stay tuned! Thanks!

Thank you for the fast response, Nicole!

Hi BNA, I received news today that district 4, 5 and 7 will be recounted. I also added the spreadsheet sent by the Town Clerk with totals by district. Thanks for sticking with Patch.
