Woman Gets Pinned Between Vehicle and ATM

Branford Fire Department works cautiously to free the woman.

Branford Fire and Police were dispatched to , 471 East Main St., this evening just before 5 p.m. on the report of a woman pinned between her vehicle and the drive-up ATM.

Upon arrival, responders found a 65-year-old woman of Branford pinned between her car and the wall of the bank.

It appeared that the woman, driving a SUV, attempted to retrieve dropped items while at the ATM when her vehicle rolled forward pinning her, said Branford Fire Department's Deputy Chief Tom Mahoney. Emergency responders report that when they arrived, the victim was conscious and alert but was twisted in a painful position with her right leg caught under the car door and her upper body still partially in the car.

Because of the way the woman was trapped, Mahoney said firefighters moved cautiously to minimize discomfort and prevent further injury to the victim.
