Weekend Crimes Include Assault, Drug Possession and Larceny

There were 20 total arrests this weekend; motor vehicle infractions are not cited here.

Neil V. Amendola, 36, of Branford was arrested on Saturday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m. for first degree assault and disorderly conduct. When police arrived at Amendola’s residence, 6 Patrick Lane, they found William Stewart, 58, of Branford seriously injured with wounds on the head and body inflicted by a blunt object. Police report Stewart was a family friend of Amendola and arrived at the residence to fix a garage door when an altercation ensued. Amendola was also arrested the following day, March 13 at 12:58 p.m. for interfering with an officer. You can read more . Amendola is being held on a $500,000 bond.

March 11

Efrain J. Rodriguez, 30, of New Haven was arrested at 7 a.m. for third degree larceny and first degree forgery. His court date was set for March 22.

Gabriella M. Nye, 19, of North Haven was arrested at 5 p.m. for sixth degree larceny. Her court date is March 22.

Kevin Lindsey Schiff, 43, of East Haven was arrested at 6:41 p.m. for creating a public disturbance. His court date was set for March 25.

March 12

Theodore Richard Matos, 26, of Branford was arrested at 2:37 a.m. for breach of peace. His court date was set for March 22.

Robert A. Ruzinsky, 51, of New Haven was arrested at 9 a.m. for failure to keep prescription drugs in original container, possession of narcotics, sixth degree larceny and criminal attempt. His court date was set for March 22.

Ralph R. Quarequlo, 42, of New Haven was arrested at 2:30 p.m. for fifth degree larceny and conspiracy. His court date was set for March 22.

March 13

Peter J. Giacomini, 73, of East Haven was arrested for speeding and operating a vehicle hile under the influence. His court date was set for March 23.
