Three Branford Package Stores Fail Compliance Checks

A trio of Branford stores allegedly sold alcohol to a minor during a compliance check.

Three Branford establishments, along with three Fairfield establishments, allegedly failed compliance checks last weekend, according to a report by the Department of Consumer Protection.

On April 27, Liquor Control agents from the Department of Consumer Protection, trained youth volunteers and officers from the
Branford Police Department conducted a series of compliance checks of 16 package stores and grocery stores licensed to sell beer in that town.

Three of the 16 allegedly failed the compliance check by selling to a volunteer minor. These stores were: Harbor Package Store, Indian Neck Liquor Store and J. Foodmart.

These three establishments, along with the three in Fairfield, are charged with selling liquor to a minor and will be scheduled for an administrative hearing before the Liquor Control Commission, where each will have the opportunity to address the charges.
