Chief Ahern Offers 360 Degree View of New HQ

Branford's lucky to have a tech-savvy Fire Chief who will keep you visually updated on the new firehouse project's progress with a fancy App, Photosynth.

Are you wondering what's going on at 's ? Is the project on schedule? What's the new place looking like?

The curious are fortunate that Branford Fire Chief Jack Ahern is  and excited to share! 

Since the fall, he's been playing with a new App, Photosynth by Microsoft, which allows him to take photos of a space and then stitches them together into a 360-degree view.

So far he's done the first floor, the second floor (seen above), the apparatus bay and an awesome 360-degree aerial view from the department's ladder truck. 

He's promised to keep the community updated through this application so check his Photosynth page often for new 360-degree tours.

For those who want to know what's going on in real life Ahern said you can expect the brick to be coming in soon as well as the metal roof. 

As far as the project's projected completion date? Ahern said they are on target for a May, 2012 debut.
