Second Man Arrested in Alleged Baseball Bat Beating

Branford Police have been working on the case for almost one year.

Branford Police , 32, of East Haven on June 28 for conspiracy, criminal attempt and first-degree assault stemming from a 2010 case where a Branford man was assaulted with a baseball bat. He is due in New Haven Superior Court on July 12.

On July 31 of last year, Branford Police report a man was beaten severely with a baseball bat at his home. There were several suspects in the case and so far Dominic Acquarulo of Guilford was arrested on Sept. 21, 2010 for the alleged crime.

Acquarulo was charged with first-degree attempt to commit assault, second-degree assault with a weapon and first-degree assault–all felony charges. The case is still open though he posted a bond of $75,000; he is due back in court on July 28.

Captain Geoffrey Morgan of the reported that the department has been following leads in the case since the incident occurred and that the identities of the suspects were unknown at the time of the alleged assault.

At the present there are no other details regarding the health condition of the victim and if police are following further leads on the case.
