Last night at 7 p.m., Officer Joseph Peterson seized more than nine ounces of marijuana, over $4,000 in cash, drug packaging paraphernalia and other assorted narcotics while investigating a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of North Main and East Main streets according to police.
Peterson said he noticed that Joshua Swimmer, 22, of 385 Boston Post Road, Madison was acting nervous at the scene of the car accident.
“I noticed that his pupils were pin-point, and he appeared unusually nervous while I was interviewing him about the crash” said Peterson. “I became suspicious and as I asked him if I could look in his car, I noticed a plastic bag of marijuana on the floor protruding from under the seat.”
Swimmer was arrested at the scene and taken into custody by police.
When police evaluated the accident scene, it appeared that Swimmer hit another vehicle from the rear at the intersection, stated police. The occupants of the vehicle Swimmer struck were treated at the scene. All including Swimmer, were not seriously injured.
Lieutenant Dave Galdenzi, who is the evening shift commander, praised the officer. “Officer Peterson has a unique ability to recognize body language and characteristics of those he is interviewing who are intentionally trying to mislead or act deceitfully towards the police.”
Swimmer was charged with possession of marijuana; sale or possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of school; possession of narcotics; possession of drug paraphernalia; operating a motor vehicle while under suspension; following to close and operating without insurance. He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
Once the bankrupt State of Connecticut gets around to legalizing and taxing marijuana, he will be there with others on the ground floor of an explosive new growth industry. It is strongly suggested that he hire a good secretary now to handle the mundane day-to-day paperwork including registering and insuring his vehicles, setting up an LLC, website, etc.... The world is your oyster, kid. Go for it!
I know Josh, and he's a goddamn f**kwit. Mere weeks before this incident he was in court answering for another double felony charge of the same nature from just a few months ago. He got pinched once again up to no good, high off his ass, and this time in a school zone. The fat turd is getting what's coming to him.
