Police: Branford Gas Station Center of Drug Dealing Operation

The A Plus Sunoco Gas Station on West Main Street was used to illegally sell marijuana, according to Branford Police.

The following is a press release from the Branford Police Department. 

Branford Police Department patrol officers on the evening shift uncovered illegal marijuana sales stemming from the A Plus Sunoco Gas Station located on 700 West Main Street, reported Sergeant Stanly Konesky, who supervises the shift and the investigation.

During a recent motor vehicle stop, Patrol Officer Mark Andrew obtained information that the illegal drug activity was occurring at the gas station and reported it to Sgt. Konesky. 

At that point the department’s Matrix Team Officers Rasshad Roach and Chris Manner were assigned to conduct an investigation.

Last evening (11/27/13) at about 8:00 pm. the Matrix officers observed George Perrelli (DOB 4/3/1985) of  55 South Valley Brook Road, Branford and William Schweizer (DOB 3/13/1980) of 25 Florance Road, Branford enter the A Plus Gas Station and make a illegal drug transaction with the store clerk, Haris Shah (DOB 6/9/1991) of 102 Atwater Street, East Haven.

The subsequent investigation reveled that Perrelli had approximately 5.87 ounces of packaged marijuana, two types of narcotics for sale and over $1,100 in cash.

Police also recovered over 32 grams of marijuana and $270 that Shah had concealed in gas station. 

In all, the estimated street value of all illegal drugs seized was approximately $1,500.

Perrelli was charged with Possession of Narcotics; Possession of Hallucin or 4oz> marijuana;  Sale or Possession of Marijuana/controlled substance With Intent To Sell; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Illegal Possession of Controlled Substance;  Failure to keep prescription drugs in original container. He was released on a $20,000 bond and scheduled to appear in New Haven Court on 12/10/13.

Shah was charged with Illegal Possession of Controlled Substance; Sale or Possession of Marijuana/controlled substance; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in New Haven Court on 12/10/13.

Schweizer received an infraction for Possession of Marijuana at the scene of the investigation.
