Police: Neighbor Stole Pills From Missing Branford Man's Home

Police have charged Thomas Chester Malinka with burglary, larceny, possession of narcotics and use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, police arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly stealing prescription medication from the home of a man who has been missing for weeks.

The New Haven Register reports that on Wednesday, police arrested 43-year-old Thomas Malinka for allegedly stealing prescription pills from the Crouch Road home of John Deveau, 61, who has been missing for weeks. Malinka was charged with burglary, larceny, possession of narcotics and use and possession of drug paraphernalia and his bond was set at $500,000.

Malinka, who lives at 33 Crouch Road, Unit D, is not a suspect in Deveau's disappearance, according to the newspaper.
