Personal Trainer Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Teen

Patrick Myers, 44, is a convicted felon with a history of arrests of a similar nature, according to police.

A 44-year-old Branford man was arrested in Fairfield on Thursday after a female teen accused him of touching her inappropriately during a personal training session at a local gym, according to Sgt. Sue Lussier.

The victim reported that Patrick Myers of 45 Jefferson Road made sexually explicit comments to her during their first session together, according to police. And then at the end of the session when the two were exiting the gym at the same time, the victim said that Myers invited her to meet his dog, which was inside of his truck. According to Lussier, while the victim was petting the dog, Myers reached out and grabbed her in an intimate area. The victim pushed him away in reaction and left immediately. The victim contacted police the following day.

Myers was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and breach of peace and his bond is set at $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 6.

According to Lussier, another resident told police that there might have been a second victim from another local gym where Myers had previously worked as a personal trainer. The department obtained a warrant for Myers' personnel records, which revealed a history of disciplinary action against him for his treatment of clients and co-workers, including a complaint made against him by a "young girl." The complaint is still under investigation.

Lussier also said that based on a background check, Myers is a convicted felon with a history of arrests of a similar nature. All of his arrests occurred in New Haven.

The Fairfield Police Department is asking that anyone with information regarding these cases to contact the Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840.
