Now Hiring: Branford Police Seek 'Criminal Analyst'

The Town of Branford's Human Resources is now recruiting for the full time position of a criminal analyst. Applications due by Jan. 6.

The following is a public notice from the Town of Branford's Human Resources Department.

The Town of Branford Human Resources Department is now recruiting for the position of: Criminal Analyst, Department of Police Services; 40 hours; $38,947 annual salary; AFSCME Union

Applications will be accepted until Jan. 6, 2014
 
Essential Functions:  Person in this position performs a variety of non-sworn duties. The Person will collect, compile, analyze and interpret data that comes from daily police reports, CAD/RMS systems and related law enforcement Analysis of data is conducted using complex statistical and mapping software.

Qualification Requirements; Candidate must be a graduate from a four year college or university with coursework in quantitative methods. Experience in statistical research and analysis using automated systems/records, GIS, SAS or SPSS and general programming abilities and a valid CT drives license. Anycombination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work. 

Selection Process: Application considered with interview.
 
The Town of Branford reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be considered for the position.
 
The files of all qualified candidates will be maintained for a minimum of six months from the announcement date, and the qualified candidates will be considered for the same or similar positions which may become available during this timeframe.
 
All candidates not employed by the Town of Branford, prior to employment, must successfully pass a post-offer medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test given at the Town's expense.
 
The Town of Branford has implemented a policy of comprehensive background investigations for positions to be completed prior to hiring as part of the reference checking procedures for candidates not already employed by the Town.  In addition this position requires signing a confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement.  Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate from further consideration.
